At the top of the rare document is the decorative Roll of Honour title, in an inverted semi circle surmounting a tableau of battle. Entwined flags of the Allies are in the foreground, and the German flag in the background. The dedicatory and titular scripts are variously in Green, Red and Brown Ink, the names are in black ink.
The 'remarks' column on the roll of honour was not used, thus this document does not indicate which men died in the war. After closure of the Co-Op on Jacktrees Road, in the 1980's the roll of honour was 'lost'.
During research for a town Roll of Honour by Cleator Moor Local History Society, it was found, and presented to the Town Council. It was then deposited for safekeeping with Cleator Moor Library in 2008. It would originally have been framed, and was in a new frame when presented to the Library.
