Copeland Borough Council say that more than 10 bolts were removed from several pieces of play equipment in the Castle Park play area, Whitehaven, over the weekend.
A spokesperson from the council said:
"Our team has inspected the equipment this morning and replaced all of the missing items.
"This is incredibly concerning as it affects the safety of the equipment and poses a significant risk to the children using it.
"All of our play areas are inspected weekly to ensure that children can enjoy the play areas fully, and we ask that parents be extra vigilant when attending play areas, in light of this recent act of vandalism.
