Vandals deface renovated buildings at former Kangol site

Vandals have struck at the former Kangol site in Cleator, daubing paint over recently renovated buildings.

B.A.F Contracting LTD are responsible for the ongoing work at Cleator. It's hoped that hundreds of jobs will be available on the site once work has been completed.

Police are investigating the incident. If you have information, call Cumbria Constabulary on 101.

A spokesperson from B.A.F Contracting Ltd said: "All CCTV systems are being checked and police are involved.

"If anyone has any information regarding two figures around Kangol and the surrounding area around 3.41am, please inform the Police."

To date, Genr8ed Limited has spent around £400k on demolition and clearance of part of the site, the replacement of all mains services, and the repair and renewal of river flood defences.

Now, following a further £500k cash injection, further demolition and the refurbishment of redundant single storey workshops at the east end of the site has commenced.

When complete the units will provide between 6,000 and 8,000 square feet of quality light engineering workshop space, suitable for SMEs in the local area.
