Cleator Moor based Copeland Age and Advice Service say demand for their telephone befriending service has increased, and are asking for volunteers to help with support.
A spokesperson said: "We are looking for individuals who would be willing to spare around 30 minutes, once or twice a week to contact lonely and isolated individuals in Copeland to have a chat and help alleviate any feelings of loneliness.
"If you are interested in helping us to support our older generation throughout this lockdown, please give us a call on 01946 552166 or email referrals for more information."
