Copeland Borough Council say that they have removed a total of 121 fly tipped tyres in just three weeks.
This news from Copeland comes on the back of South Lakes District Council reporting 118 tyres had been fly tipped in the Barbon area.
A spokesperson from the Copeland Council said: "Please be vigilant and tell us, in confidence, if you see or hear about any incidents of fly tipping. It is destroying your environment, and using your council tax to clear up.
"The tyres are often dumped in groups of more than just one or two, so we think they might not be 'domestic' fly tips. Businesses can employ firms to legally dispose of tyres.
