Children and young people in Millom are set to get the second phase of their new play park thanks to a £99,949 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.
The money, will be used to undertake phase 2 of the park in St George’s Road, Millom, providing new, inclusive play equipment, complementing the phase 1 development about to commence.
Acting Mayor of Millom, Ruth Peter, believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area.
She said: “This project will provide a real boost to the young people of Millom. It’s fantastic that FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to our new park taking shape over the next few months."
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.
