The Coastguard were tasked this afternoon by CGOC Belfast Coastguard to reports of a person in the water of the River Esk at Ravenglass.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team, along with Millom Coastguard Rescue Team, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936 from Caernarfon, multiple crews of Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Police, St Bees RNLI & Civil Nuclear Constabulary were in attendance.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard said:
"Hasty searches were conducted up and downstream were a dog and casualty were located out of the water safe and well.
"The casualty made her way along the river bank to an exit point where she was met by crews and reunited with her dog.
"With the incident brought to a safe conclusion, a debrief was conducted before all assets returned to their respective stations to commence clean down and drying of equipment.
"This was a great example of multiagency working."
