St Josephs Roman Catholic High School in Workington have announced another Covid-19 case. Eleven cases at the school have been announced in the last four weeks.
Head teacher, Jacky Kennedy said: "We have had another positive case in Year 9 and another positive case in Year 11.
"The Year 9 student was in school on Friday. Year 11 did not come in on Friday.
"This brings our whole school total to 8 over the last four weeks, 2 in Year 9, 4 in Year 10 and two in Year 11.
"A member of staff also tested positive at the weekend. This member of staff has not been in school since Tuesday of last week and did not teach any lessons on Monday or Tuesday when she was in school. This brings our staff total to 3.
"The new Year 9 positive case is in Set 3. Please check your emails if your child is in Set 3 Year 9. I have also included close contacts in tutor and in English set 2. I have been advised only to look at Friday’s contacts. If you believe your child might also have been a close contact, we will support your decisions.
"This new group of Year 9 students can not return to school until Monday 23 November and must isolate.
"I will make a decision regarding Year 11 tomorrow and email you all. In all of this, it has been lovely to see Year 10 back in school.
