Enforcement Officers from Copeland Borough Council are currently investigating a fly-tip on Red Beck Road, Cleator Moor.
Various household items, including a child’s bed, were dumped.
A spokesperson from the council said: "Our Waste Officers have had to clear this away at a cost to tax payers. If anyone has any information please contact us on 01946 598300 or email us at info@copeland.gov.uk
"We can issue a fixed penalty notice of £250 for those caught fly-tipping. We can also prosecute more serious cases which is punishable by a fine of up to £50,000, or 12 months imprisonment if convicted in a Magistrates’ Court."
