Cumbria Police say that there has been a serious collision this morning on the A591 between Windermere and Ings. The road is closed.
A spokesperson said: "Diversions are being put in place and are likely for several hours.
"If you were in the area this morning and may have seen the incident or you have dashcam please contact Cumbria Police on 101."
