Cumbria Police Federation have announced the death of a serving officer. In a statement, the Federation said:
"It is with great sadness that Cumbria Police Federation report the death of serving officer Detective Constable Andrea Buggy.
"Andrea was a well liked and much respected officer having served her career in West Cumbria in a variety of different roles.
"Andrea leaves behind a husband and young son and our thoughts are with them at this tragic time."
