After 17 successful years at the helm of Cumbria Youth Alliance, Chief Officer Cath Clarke is stepping down at the end of October 2020 and will be succeeded by Rebecca (Becky) Wolstenholme.
During her time Cath has significantly developed the organisation into how it looks today with 14 members of staff and a turnover of £750,000. CYA now has an excellent reputation and track record with representation on most multi agency boards in Cumbria.
Cath has been recognised for her work in the youth sector over 30 years and said, "It has been a joy and a privilege to work with so many young people, an amazing staff team and to receive the support from all the funders and partner agencies. There will be many challenges ahead but with Becky at the helm it will be in safe hands.”
Becky Wolstenholme has a passion for and strong track record in supporting young people across Cumbria, including founding the Eden Valley Sports Partnership. Becky has been previously recognised for her commitment to Cumbria on several occasions including a nomination for Cumbria Woman of the Year and a BBC North West Award.
Becky said, “I wish Cath all the very best for the future, she has done a fantastic job. I am very much looking forward to getting started in what will be an exciting and challenging time for CYA, and our partners in Cumbria, and building on our success.”
