The Environment Agency have issued a flood warning for the Cumbria coastline. The warning is in place for the high tide on 21/08/2020. The tide is forecast to peak between 00:00–02:00.
A spokesperson said:
"Large and powerful waves are expected to overtop sea defences as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Significant tidal spray and flooding may affect roads and properties along the coast.
"Flooding is expected to affect Rockcliffe, Longburgh, Port Carlisle, Bowness-on-Solway, Anthorn, Angerton and Skinburness areas.
"Flooding is also expected to affect Roa Island, Rampside, A5087 coast road, Aldingham, South Ulverston, Canal Foot, Greenodd, Cark, West Plain Farm, Grange-over-Sands, Meathop, Milnthorpe, B5282 coast road, Sandside and Arnside.
