Furness Coastguard were paged today (7 Aug) at 13:09 to assist Arnside & South Lakes Coastguard Rescue Team with rescuing two individuals who were stuck in mud.
A spokesperson said:
"With high tide only a couple of hours away the two persons were successfully extracted and returned safely to the beach where they were given safety advice by the Coastguard.
"There is a lot of quicksand along our shorelines and especially the Morecambe Bay Area, these areas are well signed advising people of the dangers.
"If you do find yourself stuck in mud or quicksand, stop moving, try and spread your weight out by sitting down, do not let anyone else come near you or they may get stuck, shout for help and call #999 and ask for the Coastguard."
