Bay Search and Rescue have revealed their latest lifesaving vehicle, which has arrived at their Flookburgh station on Morecambe Bay. The vehicle was shipped over from Ukraine.
A spokesperson from Bay S&R said:
"The new Sherp all terrain amphibious vehicle has cost the charity £60,000 and was delivered to the region from the manufacturer in the Ukraine.
"Morecambe Bay is the largest expanse of mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom and is notorious for its quicksand and fast moving tides.
"The new vehicle will more than halve response times for the team across the bay reaching areas that were previously inaccessible in the fast moving tides.
"It will be on call 24 hours a day
