Arrest made in Egremont assault investigation

A man has been bailed in connection with an assault that occurred on the premises of an Egremont pub.

An investigation is underway following an incident reported to have occurred in the beer garden area of The Wheatsheaf Inn, Market Place, at approximately 7.40pm on Saturday (4 July).

A 28-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries as a result of the incident.

A 37-year-old man, from Egremont, was arrested on suspicion of assault GBH and has been bailed.
