Furness Coastguard were paged this afternoon at 14:45hrs to reports of a person with a suspected broken ankle, requiring extrication from the sands at Bardsea.
A spokesperson said:
"The team made their way to scene to assist North West Ambulance Service in stabilising the casualty and then carrying her off the sands using a stretcher.
"We truely hope the casualty makes a full, speedy recovery, and if you do ever find yourself in difficulty or requiring assistance its always better to call us too soon, rather than too late.
