Man injured in Workington Robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that occurred at around 6:35pm yesterday (May 8) in the cemetery on Washington Street, Workington.

It is reported a man was assaulted before two men searched the man. Nothing was taken during the incident and the man suffered a serious head injury.

A 35-year-old man from Maryport has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.

A 42-year-old man from Workington has been arrested on suspicion of and remains in police custody.
