This week, Morrisons supermarket announced a new scheme to help restock Foodbanks nationally during the coronavirus outbreak, setting aside £10 million worth of dedicated stock specifically for them.
This North Lakes Foodbank have now received their first delivery from Whitehaven & Workington stores which included bread (200 loaves), eggs and ambient goods (pasta and canned goods etc.).
A spokesperson from the Foodbank said:
"When so many of our regular channels for food are currently closed this helps to fill the gap as demand for our service rises.
