Hutton-in-the-Forest, home to Lord and Lady Inglewood, is to host the 2020 Eden Leaflet Swap and Networking event in partnership with Eden District Council’s Tourism Team on Thursday 19 March.
The historic house will provide the perfect backdrop to this popular event which will run between 2pm and 4pm on a drop in basis. The event, now in its second year, is designed to give accommodation and other tourism operators the opportunity to meet a wide variety of Eden’s attractions under one roof and discover what’s new and different about this year’s tourism offer within the Eden Valley, North Pennines and Ullswater area.
During the afternoon people will have the chance to meet representatives from around 18 Eden attractions including two of the region’s main literature distribution companies.
Everyone attending this free event has the chance to enter a special prize draw which will include a range of prizes kindly donated by participating tourism businesses.
Alongside the leaflet swap, which also offers the chance to network over tea/coffee, people attending the event will have the chance to look around some of the historic rooms of Hutton-in-the-Forest. The house does not officially open to the public for the season until 1 April so this is a unique opportunity to see inside the house with knowledgeable guides on hand.
“We are delighted to be staging the Eden Leaflet Swap and Networking Event at Hutton in the Forest this year” said Councillor Mary Robinson - Eden District Council’s Commercial Services Portfolio Holder. “Our Tourism Team has actively responded to tourism operator requests for such an event to happen. Around 18 businesses are taking part and we look forward to welcoming accommodation providers and others connected with Eden’s vibrant tourism industry to this event. It offers a unique chance for people to meet tourism businesses face to face, discover new products and services plus look around one of Eden’s beautiful stately homes.”
Pamela Davidson, House Administrator at Hutton-in-the-Forest said “We are pleased to be working with Eden District Council’s Tourism Team to put this event on again because of the amazing feedback we received from business owners last year. This is a great way for accommodation providers to network and work together with the aim of helping the visitors get the most out their stay in the beautiful Eden district”.
