The Government have urged UK citizens to avoid all 'non-essential' travel and social contact, as the COVID-19 death toll increases.
People in the most at-risk groups, including over-70s, have been told they face 12 weeks of self-isolation as a precautionary measure. Government advice means that many people will be isolated in their homes for some time, some perhaps without support from family or friends.
There are a number of initiatives under way around the County to look after our friends and neighbours.
A new support group has launched to assist residents of Cleator Moor that have to self-isolate due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus Pandemic.
Flyers are to be published by the end of the week and will have a central telephone number to connect people to volunteers. Posters will also be placed in shop windows to help raise awareness of the new group.
