Police are investigating a robbery that happened at the Wash House, Nook Street, Workington on Thursday 13 February 2020 at around 6pm.
The offender has entered the premises when it was left insecure by the owner and stolen money from around the laundrette. Before the offender was able to leave the owner has returned and a scuffle has broken out between them resulting in the owner suffering an injured arm and knee. The offender had a metal bar with him and has also tried to get the owner's wallet but he refused. The offender has ran away through St John's Church on Washington Street towards Peter Street.
A 36-year-old male from Workington has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has been released under investigation.
