The environment agency have issued an alert about possible flooding in the areas of Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water.
A spokesperson said:
"Lake levels have risen at the Lodore lake gauge as a result of this morning's heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible throughout this afternoon, 31/01/2020, and into tomorrow, 01/02/2020.
"Low lying land and roads in the Seatoller, Stonethwaite, Rosthwaite, Grange-in-Borrowdale and Derwent Water shoreline areas may be affected.
"High river and lake levels are possible on the River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and their tributaries. Levels are expected to peak from 19:00 this evening, at around 1.66 metre.
