Cumbria Police are currently working to locate Brian Capstick, 48, who is suspected to have been involved in a firearms incident in Bootle last night. (December 13).
Capstick is from the Ecclefechan area, South Scotland. Dumfries and Galloway Police are supporting Cumbria police with enquiries.
The public are urged not to approach Capstick, who is believed to still be in Cumbria. Dial 999 if you see him or the Fiat Doblo.
Officers were contacted at 11.20pm after a firearm was discharged in a property. No one was injured during the incident.
Police are continuing to appeal to the public for sightings of a turquoise Fiat Doblo, registration number: BD60 MXG.
Officers have also issued a picture of Mr Capstick and the vehicle as a search operation continues.
The incident took place in Copeland but police would urge people across the county to look out for the vehicle – but not to approach it.
Superintendent Justin Bibby said: “We would like the public’s help in locating Mr Capstick.
“No one was injured during the incident and a search operation is ongoing.
“If you see him or this vehicle, do not to approach – dial 999.”
Mr Capstick is described as white, 6ft 1ins tall, of slim build, clean shaven with short grey hair and possibly wearing jeans and a grey coat.
