Looking Out For Neighbours’ is a new project run by ACTion with Communities in Cumbria. It is about injecting community spirit and making our neighbourhoods friendlier places, particularly for those who may be vulnerable, lonely or unable to get about by themselves.
If you would like to get involved in the project please contact Jemma Metcalfe-Gibson: jemmametcalfe-gibson@cumbriaaction.org.uk

'We are looking for friendly Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators and Members throughout Cumbria who would like to do a little bit extra for their community. The role is voluntary and would involve speaking to those members of your community who might benefit from seeing a friendly face, finding out what sort of activities/events they might like (e.g. coffee morning with a visiting nurse for instance, a shopping trip etc) and helping to organise it. The groups can be as small as 4 or 5 people and the activities can be small or large. Regardless of size, neighbourly actions make a huge difference to people.
"We would also like to invite you to join a small group of Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators and Members who would be interested in helping to develop the project.
